What's the One Lesson Everyone Should Learn?

The Values, Assumptions, Beliefs and Expectations about the way the world is or should be (VABEs) that you were taught as a defenseless child are NOT necessarily in agreement with reality. Be willing to review and decide when you are a sentient adult which VABEs you want to Keep, Lose or Add to your living repertoire and worldview.

Religions of all kinds, color (racist) biases and prejudices, gender biases and prejudices, class biases and prejudices, justifications of conquerors (including political ones), the privilege of lineage, creationism, and uneducated explanations of natural phenomenon (curses, demons, djinns, deity in clouds, volcanic thirst for virgins, etc.) are just mountains of mythological rubbish.

Change your motto to “In Truth We Trust.” Look for evidence that’s repeatable, coming from different angles and makes sense. Recognize that people try to “reify” their beliefs in multiple and mysterious ways.

If we all learned this, there would no religious wars, no wars of any kind, more inter-marriage, no hate crimes, We would still have birth defects, mental health issues, narcissists, and people who try to take advantage of others for profit, tangible and intangible. That’s well enough to deal with in life.
